Thanks for responding to the Bearspaw Community Coalition’s call for support.  As we said, the group that is forming can’t do this alone.  This email highlights how you can get involved right now 

Building the Coalition

To succeed at the NRCB, we need a strong coalition representing as many affected residents as possible.  Your email address lets us keep you informed.  Your municipal address is critical for the Coalition to demonstrate the breadth and strength of its support to the NRCB.  If you didn’t include your municipal address in your initial email, please respond to this email with that critical information.  If you haven’t already done so, share this information with your neighbours.

Supporting the Coalition

NRCB hearings are much more formal than Rocky View Council public hearings.  This isn’t about writing a letter or signing a petition.  Instead, it involves submissions from community coalitions presented by lawyers and backed by experts in relevant fields. 

At this point, we are setting up several subcommittees to co-ordinate and oversee essential technical studies.  If you can lend your technical expertise to participate in a subcommittee, provide advice to a subcommittee, or recommend someone who can, let us know.  Relevant fields include health, hydrology, geology, noise / sound attenuation, air quality, lobbying, transportation, economics, gravel extraction/mining, conveyor belt technology, environmental sciences. If you think you have relevant expertise in a field we’ve missed on this list, please let us know.

Sign up for the NRCB’s email updates.  The NRCB uses those who sign up as a measure of community interest, so we encourage you to sign up.  Here is the link to the NRCB webpage, the sign up is about halfway down the page. 

Thanks again for providing your support for this critically important fight.  We don’t want to overload anyone’s inbox so we will only send emails when there is important information to share.  We are planning an in-person information session in the reasonably near future – so watch for that email from us.
