Heidelberg’s Threat to Our Community
Rocky View County has refused the proposed Scott Gravel Pit three times over the last 30 years. Now, Heidelberg has lobbied the Province to have the Natural Resources Conservation Board(NRCB) decide whether the pit is “in the public interest” and override Rocky View’s democratic decisions.
We are facing round 4 in the fight to protect our community from an industrial-scale open pit gravel operation.

About the Coalition
The Bearspaw Community Coalition is a group of several hundred residents of Bearspaw and surrounding areas.
Our mission is to protect our beloved country residential community from the decades of harm that would result from the Scott Pit.
Our mandate is to organize and fund the community’s response and participation in the public assessment process for the Scott Pit project - a dangerous and destructive industrial operation proposed to operate in the heart of Bearspaw for several decades.
